The Food Bank of Delaware works in partnership with 536 hunger-relief program
partners located throughout the state. Our network includes food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs, senior centers and other feeding programs.

Our agencies work in partnership with us to bring nutritious, balanced meals  and groceries to the hungry in our community. Out network serves Delawareans who are in need of emergency food assistance each year.
Hunger-Relief Partners receive a weekly menu of items in stock at the Food Bank’s warehouse.
They order from that menu each week in order to supply food to pantries and feeding programs. They can also come to the Food Bank’s locations in Newark and Milford to shop for their clients’ needs in our Shopper’s Choice area. The Food Bank of Delaware will also work with partners to offer clients other hunger-relief programs.

These are some programs that hunger-relief partners offer clients:

Sister Share Program: This program allows member agencies to go directly to a select group of donors to pick up products on a scheduled basis at no cost. The member agency reports the poundage to the Food Bank on a monthly basis and donors are receipted.

On-site Feeding Programs: Emergency on-site feeding sites prepare and serve food to those in need during emergency situations – includes homeless and domestic violence shelters. Other on-site feeding programs provide daily meals to organizations such as senior and daycare centers and residential treatment homes.

HOPE (Helping Ordinary People Endure): This program is operated by agencies that want to make more food available to those who need it. Clients receive food on a regular basis so resources may be used on other necessities.
